For more than four decades, the Association of Islamic Students (AIS) at the University of Kelaniya has served as a home of unity, growth, and faith for Muslim undergraduates from all five faculties. Built upon the principles of coexistence, knowledge, and service, AIS continues to guide students toward excellence — not only academically, but also in leadership, compassion, and spiritual awareness.

As the digital world continues to transform how we connect and share ideas, the AIS–UOK Blog was created as a platform to preserve and share our journey. This blog brings together the voices of our members through articles, reflections, stories, creative writing, and updates about our projects and initiatives.

Through this platform, we aim to inspire meaningful discussions, strengthen our community bonds, and highlight the experiences of Muslim undergraduates navigating university life while staying connected to their faith.

Message from the Majlis President

On behalf of the Association of Islamic Students, I warmly welcome you to the AIS–UOK Blog.

AIS has always been a place where students come together to strengthen their faith, support one another, and contribute positively to the university community. Over the years, our association has carried out numerous programs aimed at nurturing leadership, encouraging knowledge, and promoting harmony among students.

The launch of this blog is another step in continuing that mission. It provides a space where our members can express their ideas, share knowledge, and document the journey of AIS for future generations.

I sincerely appreciate the dedication of the media team and all contributors who worked tirelessly to bring this initiative to life.

Message from the Media Team Head

The AIS–UOK Blog is a project initiated by the Media Team with the intention of creating a meaningful digital platform for our association.

Our goal was to design a space where creativity, reflection, and knowledge could be shared openly among students. From articles and poetry to project updates and reflections, this blog allows our members to express their thoughts while preserving the activities and memories of AIS.

This platform also serves as a bridge connecting current members, alumni, and the wider community, allowing everyone to stay connected with the work and spirit of AIS.

We hope that this blog will continue to grow with the contributions of our talented members and become a valuable archive of ideas and experiences for years to come.

About the Media Team & This Project

The AIS Media Team is responsible for managing the association’s digital presence, including content creation, event coverage, and communication across our platforms.

The development of this blog was part of an initiative to expand AIS’s online presence and create a permanent space for documenting our activities, creative works, and community reflections.

This project was designed and developed with the collective effort of the media team, combining creativity, technical work, and teamwork to build a platform that represents the identity and vision of AIS.

Through this blog, we hope to continue sharing knowledge, inspiring positive change, and strengthening the bond among members of the AIS community.
